I've known the numbers since the end of the season, but I can finally tell you all! The railroad got #1 in total ridership for the 2007 season, and it's highest ridership since 2003!
Our grand total, though a far cry from what it used to be is-
1,676,661 riders.
Pretty good that the Ole' Choo Choo can beat out 17 Roller Coasters!
The rest of the rides at Cp have their seasonal totals up also available on the Cp website.
Though the high and mighty steel may overcome us, we will always Chug Along! _________________ "I drug it around the Railroad, and then drug it back into the shop!!!"

This is good news indeed! Shows management how important the railroad is to ridership at the Point. Maybe they will put money into getting both Albert and Jennie and get them back on the line.

The problem is--if you consider cost per rider--it's still probably more expensive than a coaster. Considering maintenance and so forth.
Also--what is the link to the stats--I couldn't find it. _________________ Crew member 1995-1996

The totals for ridership are not on one page alone... Every ride at Cp has a webpage and it has the rides ridership listed on it.
The R.R.'s page is- http://www.cedarpoint.com/public/park/rides/tranquil/cp_le_railroad.cfm

For most of the other rides you are right Matt, but I heard what the maintenance cost for Dragster alone was this season, and that blows our entire budget outta the water across Lake Erie into Canada!!!~

This is wonderful. To this day even the good old steam engines are needed. _________________ "GET OUT OF HERE YOU NOSIE LITTLE PERVERT OR I'M GONNA SLAP YOU SILLY!"

Goes to show you the CP & LE RR is viable and putting money back into its upkeep is a well deserved expense. I can only imagine what the ridership would have been had we run 2 trains all the time.

| Running 3 trains was fun every Saturday. But unfortunately it isn't possible these days without the baby train. |
